Not about any piece of media in parrticular...
But WOW, do girlfriends in fiction have a high mortality rate these days.

Which means it's time for another link to Women In Refrigerators...

Comments:
You are the third person I've seen link to this not in response to any particular piece of video. I've yet to watch said video, but I do have it downloaded.

Oh, no, see, the best thing is that I have recently experienced SEVERAL different instances of women in refrigerators. Oh, pop culture zeitgeist, why do you want the girlfriends dead so bad?

I remember way back when I was at a Star Trek convention (one of the few I ever attended) and Michael Dorn was speaking.

Someone asked about why the decision has been made to remove from the Next Gen the character of his wife.

He got kind of sheepish and said that he thought it might have been his fault. Apparently one of the writers came to him and wanted to know what he thought would really piss Worf off.

He replied, "Well, maybe if someone killed his old-lady..."

And so they did. Easiest way to provide conflict for a male character is to kill off his love interest.

Hence the lady in the fridge. It's like killing a kid, kicking the dog, or anything other cheap and easy conflict generator. Sometimes writers are just lazy.
