Single women a sleeping giant for Democratic Party - baltimoresun.com
This article is interesting because it makes the point that women should be voting, and yet aren't.

File this under: "why Liz has no patience with her peer group sometimes," I suppose.

I'm trying to read more news every day -- in fact, I made myself a bookmark folder of sites to read, so that in the morning I can open them in tabs and read them all. This is not terribly novel, but since I've stopped listening to podcasts on my way to work so that I can listen to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix I've begun to feel totally disconnected from the real world. Also, I just started taking a sketch comedy class. And the real world is such a good source of material.

So far I'm reading:
NY Times: 'cause I'm snooty
BBC News: 'cause I'm an Anglophile
Huffington Post: 'cause I'm a liberal
Real Clear Politics: 'cause I'm also interested in the full spectrum of thought
Fark: 'cause I'm a dork
Boing Boing 'cause I'm a GIANT dork
Post Secret: 'cause it's awesome
YouTube Top Viewed: 'cause it's my bread and butter
Futon Critic: 'cause it covers my one constant friend

What else should I be checking out? That is my question for you.

Comments:
Crooks & Liars (crooksandliars.com) is John Amato's site and is great for a (liberal-slanting) roundup of newsworthy events, including links to various blog commentaries. Heavy on political commentary, lots of links to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

I also check MediaMatters.org sometimes, and for the fun of it, RegretTheError.com, a roundup of interesting corrections from various media outlets.

http://www.usatoday.com, because it covers pop culture seriously and without condescension.

Add some conservative items to your life. Start with FoxNews.com. Personally, I'm independent with some libertarian leanings. I like to read both conservative and liberal material because I believe the truth lies somewhere in between.

Thanks SNO and Timesink! Great calls. Sadly, Murphy, I'm gonna have to pass on Fox News. RCP has a pretty good round-up of the full political spectrum. And I'd rather not drive up Ailes's page count any more than necessary.
