Wot's All This, Then?

So I'm sure the question of why I need a new blog/site has come up, maybe somewhere in the back of your mind. So, just so we're all clear, here are some of the things I'll be doing here:

• Having a nice, vaguely-professional mindspace. Part of getting older is taking yourself seriously, after all, and I like blogging enough to give it a serious go.
• Tracking projects. I'm currently trying to start and/or finish a few shorts, and there are other longer things in the works. Logging certain details about the process interests me, and maybe it'll interest you. I'll leave out things like waiting on hold with the Bureau of State Parks to get redirected to the office that just transferred me there just to ask one lousy question about getting a film permit. Because absolutely no one is interested in that.
• More reviews and media analysis, because I need to start forming opinions again beyond "cool, baby, cool."
• More politics, but nothing preachy.
• More linking to other people.
• And if there is any interest, I might potentially do a semi-weekly feature, in which you pick a random movie, and I attempt to break down and critique its three act structure. This will probably only interest the most emotionally stunted of screenplay nerds. I expect it to go like hotcakes.

So that's what I want to do. Is there anything YOU want me to do? Here's the time to say so. You can use these snazzy new Blogger comments, with (thank the lord) spam protection.

It's not worth it. No matter how funny the act structure breakdown is, you will never get your time back.
